9/30

But Im drawing closer still
It could end right here.

Suicide Letter from Marvin the Martian

Goodbye Earthling
This is the last time you'll here from me.
Enclosed in the package is my laser gun. It never
runs out of plasma-charge ammunition,
unlike your lesser weaponry. Use it well.
Ive come to terms with the disease of humankind. Your people,
with their wanton disregard for natural law have scratch-and-burned
burrows through the skin of this host, as a parasite would.
Knowing this, Ive also recognized the universal truth: this will spread to
my home. Somehow, someday, this will arrive. We may not have the same
flaws, but none are infallible.
This is why Ive decided not to return to Mars. Instead, I plan to give myself over,
walk headfirst into that biting, groaning horde of next adventure. I wouldn't want
anyone being hurt alongside me, or worse, because of.
Do not call this heroism, or selflessness.
This is logic.
This is acceptance.
This is not running from inevitability. He never gets winded.
Also enclosed with this letter is my martian battle helmet. I thought it would be appropriate,
marching towards destiny, showing them exactly what it is thats been
hiding in the shadow of iron
all this time.
