Science Hero

We tied the zombies together
with wireless signals, replaced
dessicated eyes with telephoto
lens, best high-res, infra-red.
The purpose was to learn it all:

roaming patterns, feeding habits,
attack vectors. You have to see
all the deaths we filmed as intel,
as research findings; necessary

for the long-view. The next thing.
Where we go from here. Someday
I'll be seen as authentic visionary
hero: the man who saved the world

from itself by harnessing the living
dead, not destroying them. The world
will thank me. Children will learn
my name in school. Parents will hope

they grow up to be a science hero,
just like me. History will re-write
everything I've done into brave genius.
There will be no mention of the bodies.
